Wall Street Journal Is Practically Giving Away 1,000 United Airlines Miles

I’ll tell you what you need to know about this deal.

Buy 1,000 United Airlines Miles at a Huge Discount!

Until 11:59 pm Eastern Time on September 19, 2016, you’ll receive a bonus 1,000 United Airlines miles when you subscribe to the Wall Street Journal through the United Airlines online shopping portal.  Here are the details:

  • Get a 2-month trial subscription to the Wall Street Journal for $1
  • Subscription must not be cancelled for at least 45 days
  • If you do not cancel your subscription before the 2-month trial ends, your card will be charged the normal monthly rate until you cancel
  • This offer is limited to 1 trial subscription per United Airlines account.  So if you participated in earlier promotions, it’s possible you will not get the current bonus

This is a good deal for folks who are organized enough to remember to cancel their subscription before the trial period ends!  Forgetting to cancel and being charged a monthly fee makes this deal much less attractive.

Also, you can NOT cancel your Wall Street Journal subscription through the website or by email.  You must cancel by phone at 800-568-7625.  That said, the Wall Street Journal is a great source of information.  You might find yourself keeping the subscription anyway!

What Are 1,000 United Airlines Miles Worth?

United Airlines normally sells miles for 3.5 cents each.  So 1,000 United Airlines miles would usually cost $35 plus tax.

While you can’t do much with just 1,000 United Airlines miles, this could be a good deal for folks who are saving for an award or need a few more miles to top-off their account.  Or if you need to keep your United Airlines miles from expiring.
