Through December 19, 2016, you can earn up to a 100% bonus when you buy United Airlines miles with United Airlines’ latest promotion.
You must purchase miles in increments of 1,000. But the minimum and maximum amount of miles you can purchase, along with what bonus you’ll get, varies depending on your targeted offer.
Million Mile Secrets team member Jasmin was targeted to earn up to 50% bonus miles, with a maximum purchase of 100,000 United Airlines miles:
- 25% bonus when you buy between 5,000 and 9,000 United Airlines miles
- 35% bonus when you buy between 10,000 and 19,000 United Airlines miles
- 50% bonus when you buy between 20,000 and 100,000 United Airlines miles

Is This a Good Deal?
United Airlines miles usually cost ~3.76 cents each, so you’ll definitely pay less per mile with this deal. But it probably doesn’t make sense for coach flights. Unless it’s a last minute ticket that is very expensive!
Because you’ll need 25,000 United Airlines miles for a round-trip coach ticket within the US.
With a 50% bonus on a purchase of 17,000 United Airlines miles, for example, you’ll pay ~$640 (including taxes). For a total of 25,500 United Airlines miles (17,000 miles + 50% bonus). And the majority of round-trip coach tickets within the US cost LESS than ~$640!
But this deal might be good for folks looking to book Business Class award flights on United Airlines or their airline partners. Or if you need to top-off your account for a specific award ticket.
