There’s an improved offer for the Chase United MileagePlus Explorer card! You’ll earn 50,000 United Airlines miles after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of opening your account. Plus an additional 5,000 United Airlines miles when you add an authorized user and make a purchase in the same timeframe.
But folks on Reddit report a better targeted offer for the same card, which comes with 70,000 United Airlines miles and a $50 statement credit after you meet minimum spending requirements. To see if you’re eligible, sign-in with your United Airlines frequent flyer number and password.
We don’t earn a commission for the targeted offer, but Emily and I will always tell you about better deals!
With either deal, you’ll earn more than enough United Airlines miles for 2 round-trip coach tickets within North America. Or a one-way Business Class ticket to Europe!

Do NOT apply for this card until you check if you’re eligible for a better deal! You’ll earn 20,000 more United Airlines miles with the targeted offer.
But if you’re not targeted, this is a good deal. You’ll get:
- 50,000 United Airlines miles after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of opening your account
- 5,000 United Airlines miles after adding an authorized user and making a purchase within the same timeframe.
- 2 United Airlines miles per $1 you spend on United Airlines
- 1 United Airlines mile per $1 you spend on all other purchases
- 10,000 bonus miles when you spend $25,000 on your card each year
- 2 United Club passes per year
- First checked bag free when you use your card to pay for your ticket
- Priority boarding
The $95 annual fee is NOT waived the first year. But you won’t pay foreign transaction fees, which makes it a good card to use overseas.
Check out my review of the card and my guide to earning and using United Airlines miles!
Keep in mind, Chase has tightened its application rules. So if you’ve opened more than ~5 credit cards within the past 24 months from ANY bank (except these small business cards), it’s likely you will NOT be approved for the card.
The bonus on this card was previously 30,000 United Airlines miles plus a $50 statement credit after meeting minimum spending requirements. So now’s a good time to apply if you’ve had your eye on the card.
Remember, cardholders will see more available award seats than folks who don’t have the card.
Note: If you’re not eligible for the 50,000 United Airlines miles deal, there are other airline cards which also earn a similar number of miles, like the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite™ MasterCard®, which also earns 50,000 miles. after meeting minimum spending requirements.
