American Express has increased limited-time offers on all 3 of their Blue cards.

1.   AMEX Blue Cash Everyday

The AMEX Blue Cash Everyday comes with a bonus $100 (as a statement credit) after you spend $1,000 on purchases in your first 3 months.  You’ll also get:

  • 3% cash back at US supermarkets on up to $6,000 per year in purchases
  • 2% cash back at US gas stations & select US department stores
  • 1% cash back on other purchases
  • Terms and Limitations apply

And if you apply by May 3, 2017, you’ll also get 10% cash back at US restaurants for the first 6 months you are a cardholder, up to $200 back!  So if you think you’ll spend $2,000 at restaurants in the next 6 months, this is a great offer for you!

This card has NO annual fee.  But it does charge foreign transaction fees, so you shouldn’t use it overseas.  You can read my full review of the card here.

2.  AMEX Blue Cash Preferred

The AMEX Blue Cash Preferred has a sign-up bonus of $150 back (as a statement credit) after you spend $1,000 in purchases on your new card in your first 3 months  It also comes with:

Earn 10% Back at US Restaurants in the First 6 Months of Opening Your Card, up to $200 Back

The $95 annual fee is NOT waived the first year.  And the card charges foreign transaction fees, so it’s not a good card to use abroad.  Here’s my full review of the card.

3.   AMEX Blue for Business

The AMEX Blue for Business comes with an increased sign-up bonus of 25,000 Membership Rewards points after meeting tiered minimum spending requirements.  You’ll earn 10,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points after your first purchase on the card within the first 3 months of card membership.  And another 15,000 points after spending $5,000 in purchases in the first 6 months.

You’ll also get:

  • 2X AMEX Membership Rewards points on qualifying purchases through the AMEX travel website
  • 30% annual points bonus

Note:   You might qualify for a business card, even if you think you don’t!  If you have a for-profit venture (selling items on Etsy, tutoring, coaching, etc.), you qualify for a small business card.

Get the Most From Your AMEX Membership Rewards Points!

You can redeem the points you earn from the AMEX Blue for Business cards for travel, gift cards, merchandise, and entertainment.  But you can NOT transfer them to travel partners, like Air Canada and Delta.  You’ll need to have another AMEX card if you want to do that.

Here are all the cards that earn AMEX Membership Rewards points:

So if you have another AMEX card on this list, you can transfer your points to THAT card from your AMEX Blue for Business card, and then transfer them to travel partners!

Note:   Remember, American Express limits folks to one sign-up bonus per lifetime, per card.  So if you’ve had any of these cards before, you can’t earn the bonus again.

Bottom Line

If you spend a lot at restaurants, the improved offers on the AMEX Blue Cash Everyday and AMEX Blue Cash Preferred could be worthwhile!  That’s because you’ll get 10% back at US restaurants for the first 6 months you are a cardholder (up to $200 back) when you apply through May 3, 2017.  That’s on top of the normal sign-up bonuses you’ll receive after meeting minimum spending requirements!

And the AMEX Blue for Business comes with an increased sign-up bonus of 25,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points after meeting minimum spending requirements.
