Registration is open for Hyatt’s latest “Double Points for Being You” promotion. After registering, you’ll earn double Hyatt points on paid stays, beginning with your 2nd qualifying stay, from April 1, 2017, through June 30, 2017.
To earn double points, you must also provide your World of Hyatt membership with your reservation and at check-in.
Elite members will earn even more points, but the bonus through this promotion is only good on the base points you earn. You will NOT earn double points for the regular bonus you get for having elite status.
Note: Only paid stays and Points + Cash stays will qualify. Award nights will NOT earn bonus points. And stays booked through 3rd-party sites like Orbitz and Expedia won’t qualify either. You must book directly with Hyatt.
Hyatt hotels include:
- Andaz
- Grand Hyatt
- Hyatt
- Hyatt House
- Hyatt Place
- Hyatt Regency
- Hyatt Zilara and Hyatt Ziva
- Park Hyatt
Is It Worth It?
World of Hyatt members normally earn 5 Hyatt points per $1 on Hyatt stays. With this deal, you’ll earn 10 Hyatt points per $1.
So, for example, without elite status, you’d need to spend $500 on stays, excluding your first stay, to earn enough for a free night at a Hyatt Category 1 hotel. Because Category 1 Hyatt hotels cost 5,000 Hyatt points per night ($500 X 10 points per $1).

You’ll Need to Earn 5,000 Hyatt Points for a Free Night at a Category 1 Hyatt Hotel, Like the Hyatt Regency Kathmandu in Nepal
That’s certainly NOT an earth-shattering deal. And I don’t like that your first stay doesn’t qualify for the bonus.
But if you already have upcoming Hyatt stays planned, you should register, because a few bonus points are better than nothing!
If you like Hyatt points, it could be worth switching paid stays at another hotel chains to Hyatt for this deal. But keep in mind, other hotels, like Hilton, are running promotions too.

I love to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt for free hotel stays.
Remember, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt to top-off your account for an award stay if you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred, Ink Business Preferred, or (no longer offered) Ink Bold card or Ink Plus card.
And if you have one of the cards listed above, you can indirectly transfer points earned from the Chase Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, and Ink Cash cards too!

You Can Move Chase Ultimate Rewards Points to Hyatt and Other Travel Partners If You Have Certain Chase Cards
Or consider the Chase Hyatt card. You can earn 2 free nights at any Hyatt after spending $2,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of opening your account. Plus 5,000 bonus Hyatt points when you add an authorized user and make a purchase within the same timeframe.
Bottom Line
With Hyatt’s Double Points for Being You promotion, you can earn double points on Hyatt stays, starting with your 2nd stay, between April 1, 2017, and June 30, 2017. To qualify, you must register for the deal and show your World of Hyatt membership number on your reservation and at check-in.
