This is a nice bonus if you have paid IHG stays coming up anyway. But it’s not nearly as big as their most recent Accelerate promotion, which runs through April 15, 2017. With that deal, some folks were targeted to earn over 40,000 IHG points!
Just remember, bookings made through 3rd-party sites like Orbitz will NOT count towards the promotion. You must book your stay directly through IHG to qualify.
Is the IHG Spring Bonus Promotion Worth It?
I always recommend registering for hotel promotions even if you don’t have a stay planned. It only takes a minute or 2 and you never know when a travel opportunity will come up!
That said, consider the bonus you’re targeted for. Switching a paid stay to IHG to take advantage of the deal might not be worth it, especially if you can do better with current promotions from hotels like Choice Hotels, Club Carlson, Hilton, and Hyatt.
It’s a much better deal if you have the Chase IHG card, because you’ll earn an additional 5,000 IHG points when you use it to pay for your stay. It’s one of the Chase cards I keep in my wallet!
