The TD Cash Visa Card Can Put $200 in Your Pocket!

I’ll explain what you get with this card and whether or not I think it’s a good deal!

What’s the TD Cash Visa Card?

You can earn $200 in cash back when you sign-up for the TD Cash Visa card and spend $1,500 on purchases within the 1st 90 days of opening your account.

The Cash Back You Earn With the TD Cash Visa Gives You the Ultimate Flexibility

And I also like that you get:

  • 2% cash back on dining
  • 1% cash back on all other purchases
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • No annual fee

This is a good card if you prefer cash back and are looking for a card you can use overseas with no annual fee.

How Does It Compare to Other No Fee Cards?

Here’s a look at how the TD Cash Visa card stacks up against other cards with no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees:

CardSign-Up BonusEarningsForeign Transaction FeesAnnual Fee
TD Cash Visa$200 in cash back when you spend $1,500 on purchases within the 1st 90 days of opening your account• 2% cash back on dining

• 1% cash back on all other purchases

• 3 points per $1 (3% back towards travel) for airfare purchases through the Bank of America Travel Center (up to $6,000 per calendar year)

Capital One Quicksilver$100 cash back when you spend $500 on purchases within the 1st 3 months of opening your account• 1.5% cash back on all purchasesNoNo
Capital One Venture One• 20,000 miles ($200 in travel) when you spend $1,000 on purchases within the 1st 3 months of opening your account• 1.25 miles per $1 spent (1.25% back towards travel) on all purchasesNo No

Discover it MilesNo• 1.5 miles (or 1.5% back) all purchases

All miles doubled at the end of your 1st 12 months
No No

I’d choose the TD Cash Visa card over the Capital One Venture One and Quicksilver cards because Capital One pulls your credit report from all 3 credit bureaus.  I’d rather “save” those credit pulls (that temporarily reduce your credit score) for more card applications!

The BankAmericard Travel Rewards card may be a better choice for your everyday spending.  With this card you’ll earn 20,000 miles ($200 towards travel) when you complete the minimum spending.  And you’ll get 1.5 points (1.5% cash back towards travel) on all purchases, instead of 2% cash back on dining only.

Or you might sign-up for the Discover it card or the Discover it Miles cards instead.

With the Discover it Miles card, you’ll earn an 1.5X miles on all purchases within the 1st 12 months of opening your account.  At the end of your 1st 12 billing cycles, Discover will double your miles.  So you’ll get effectively 3% back.

With the Discover it card, you earn 1% cash back on all purchases.  And 5% cash back (on up to $1,500 in spending) in rotating categories during the 1st 12 months.  For new Discover it cardholders, Discover will double your cash back after your 1st 12 billing cycles.

So you’ll get an effective 2% back on every purchase.  And a total of 10% cash back in the rotating quarterly categories when you register.

Review Of The TD Cash Visa With 200 Bonus

New Discover It Cardholders Can Earn Up to 10% Cash Back in Different Categories Each Quarter Such as Department Stores, Grocery Stores, and Amazon!

However, keep in mind Discover cards aren’t as widely accepted internationally as Visa.

Don’t plan on using your card outside of the US?  The BankAmericard Cash Rewards American Bar Association card (you do NOT have to be a member to sign-up) is another option.  When you sign-up and spend $500 on purchases within the 1st 3 months of opening your account, you’ll earn $175 in cash back.

Note:  The link for this card isn’t working now, but the deal may come back.

So you can earn a similar sign-up bonus for less spending.  You’ll also get 3% cash back at grocery stores and gas stations, with a 10% bonus on all cash back when you deposit it into a Bank of America checking or savings account.

Which card is right for you depends on you spending habits.

Keep in mind, by signing-up for TD Cash Visa card, you can save your Chase, AMEX, and Citi applications for their more lucrative cards.

Why Get Cash Back When You Can Earn Big Travel?

However, if you’re interested in earning Big Travel, a combination of the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Freedom cards will take you farther!

I use the Chase Sapphire Preferred on travel and dining expenses to earn 2X Chase Ultimate Rewards points.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred has no foreign transaction fees.  And the annual fee is $0 for the 1st year.  So you can try the card for ~10 months then keep it if you like it.  Or cancel before paying the fee if you don’t.  I’ve kept my card many years because it’s worth it for Big Travel!

And in the US, I use my no-annual-fee Chase Freedom card.  I especially like earning 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points (5% cash back) on up to $1,500 in spending in their rotating quarterly categories such as gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants.

You can get much more than 2% cash back when you transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to airline and hotel partners like United Airlines and Hyatt.

For example, while 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points is worth $500 in cash back, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt for a 2-night stay at the all-inclusive Hyatt Ziva in Cancun that would otherwise cost $1,048!

Looking for a Relaxing Getaway? The Hyatt Ziva Cancun Could Cost ~$524 per Night, but With Chase Ultimate Rewards Points You Can Stay for Free!

Emily and I have used our Chase Ultimate Rewards points for a Hawaiian getaway, a birthday surprise, and a luxury hotel stay in Paris!

Bottom Line

You can now earn $200 with the TD Cash Visa card when you complete the minimum spending.  That’s double the usual offer for this card.  You’ll also get 2% cash back on dining.

We don’t earn a commission on this card, but we’ll always tell you about the best deals!

This card is a good option for folks looking for a cash back card with no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees.

That said, if you’re looking for Big Travel with Small Money, you can get much more with a combination of the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Freedom cards.  Because you can earn a similar welcome bonus with the no-annual fee Freedom card.

Then transfer the bonus points to your Chase Sapphire Preferred for travel with United Airlines, Hyatt, Southwest, and more.

But if you already have the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Freedom cards, or you’re only interested in cash back, the current offer for the TD Cash Visa card is worth considering.
