Readers Share the Creative Ways They’d Like to Use IHG Points

We love hearing from y’all about your future travel plans and how you like using miles & points.  So I enjoyed reading your comments from our recent IHG points giveaway!

We received tons of entries, and love your enthusiasm!

The contest is closed now.  But here are the kinds of experiences Million Mile Secrets readers would use IHG points for!

Use IHG Points for Unique Experiences

Through August 31, 2017, IHG and Coca-Cola have teamed up to offer the Sharing Summer promotion.

With this deal, you can buy all kinds of once-in-a-lifetime experiences with your IHG points, like special access to sporting events, Broadway shows, vacation packages, and music festival passes.  But we asked y’all to tell us ANY experience you would redeem IHG points for.

Here are some of your ideas!

1.   US Open

I went to the US Open last year, and it was an incredible experience!  So I can understand why so many of you would use IHG points for tickets to this fun event.

Million Mile Secrets reader Cathy Edwards wants to see Serena play.  

2.   African Safari

Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could use your IHG points for a trip to Africa?

Krista dreams of taking her family on a safari.

And Leann and Jordan have the same wish.  And would want to share the experience with their loved ones, too!

3.   PointBreaks Stay

Sure, a stay at an IHG PointBreaks hotel doesn’t sound like the most creative way to use your points.  But if you can find a hotel that fits your travel plans, you can save a lot of money!

DavidL would love to use his IHG points for an inexpensive stay in the Czech Republic or Poland.

And Randy wants to visit San Clemente with IHG points!

Million Mile Secrets readers Sue and Aroon know that booking a PointBreaks hotel can be a great way to make the most of your hard-earned rewards.

4.   Northern Lights

Lots of you want to be able to use IHG points for a trip to see the Northern Lights.  And I agree!

Reader Andrea mentioned she’d be happy to use her IHG points for a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience, too.  But certainly wouldn’t pass on a trip to Norway!

5.   Aquarium Tickets

With IHG’s Sharing Summer promotion, you can use your points for tickets to the Georgia Aquarium.  And lots of readers, like Maynard, are interested in that deal.

But Chantal wants to use her points to be a trainer for a day at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.

And Brett wants to be able to use points to visit the world-renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium!

6.   Washington, DC, Trip

The Washington, DC, Experience was another popular auction item through IHG’s Sharing Summer promotion.

Million Mile Secrets readers Lynn, Kazu, Jennifer, Larry, and Erob, would all use IHG points to bid on that particular trip.

7.   Unique Sporting Event

Are you a sports fanatic?  Jason would use his IHG points for tickets to a Rangers game.

And Leslie would love the opportunity to go to the Super Bowl with her husband.

And Don would use his points to do a flyover of a sporting event.  What a creative response!

While Dave would use points to see the Indy 500 in person.

8.   Hawaii

Hawaii is on lots of folks’ bucket lists.  And it’s easy to understand why!

Stephanie and Lila were both married there, and would love to use points to go back for an anniversary trip!

And reader Shawna wants to take her mom to Hawaii.

9.   Expensive Hotel Stays

One great use for IHG points is to stay at expensive hotels you might not normally consider.  Million Mile Secrets readers dream of using their points in cities like Hong Kong, Manhattan, Barcelona, and more!
