Through July 31, 2017, you’ll earn bonus miles AND get a 10% discount when you buy or gift American Airlines miles.  But you’ll have to purchase 11,000+ American Airlines miles to trigger the promotion.

The more miles you buy, the bigger the bonus.  And the cheaper the miles become.

Here’s what you’ll earn:

Should You Buy Miles?

This could be a good deal for folks who want more miles to top-off their account for an award flight.  Or if you’d rather not pay cash for an otherwise expensive Business or First Class ticket.

For example, if you spent ~$4,311 to buy 150,000 miles, you’ll receive a 100,000 mile bonus.  You’d then have more than enough miles for 2 round-trip Business Class tickets to Europe, which can cost ~$8,000+ each!
