1. Earn Double JetBlue Points Through February 29, 2016
Via Point Me to the Plane, you can earn 2X JetBlue base points on tickets purchased by January 31, 2016, for travel through February 29, 2016. But you must register for the promotion before you book your ticket.
Normally, you’ll earn 3 JetBlue base points (not including bonus points for booking online or purchasing premium fares) per $1 you spend on JetBlue tickets. With this deal, you’ll earn 6 JetBlue base points per $1.
Read my post about why it sometimes makes sense to pay an upgraded fare on JetBlue!

Double Your Points When You Book Paid JetBlue Tickets by January 31, 2016 for Travel Through February 2016
Only JetBlue flights are eligible for the double points.
I prefer Southwest, but I have friends who are loyal JetBlue fliers because they like the free in-flight entertainment, Wi-Fi, and legroom. If you don’t collect JetBlue points, remember you can credit your JetBlue flights to Singapore Airlines instead.
2. Frontier Adds 42 New Routes
Frontier is adding 42 new routes to their network starting in April 2016. And to promote these flights, they’re offering fares as low as $39 each way.
You can book the introductory fares until January 17, 2016, by 11:59 pm Eastern Time. Travel dates are through August 15, 2016. Depending on the route, sale fares are only available certain days of the week, and there are blackout dates. So read the fine print!
Here are some new routes that look interesting:
- Austin – Orlando
- Cincinnati – Los Angeles
- Cleveland – San Francisco
- Philadelphia – New Orleans
- Phoenix – Seattle
Check out the full list!
Remember, Frontier charges lots of fees. So do the math to be sure you’re getting a good deal. I like Southwest better (2 free checked bags and no change / cancellation fees!) but folks in smaller cities with fewer options might do well with Frontier’s new routes!
I’m curious if those of y’all in places like Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Phoenix are excited about this.
Frontier’s low cost competitor, Allegiant, is also adding new flights and destinations!
3. Earn 3X Miles With Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select at Clothing Stores, Department Stores, and More (Targeted)
Check your email and spam folders!
Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select cardholders on Reddit report receiving a targeted offer to earn 3X American Airlines miles per $1 spent at clothing stores, computer & electronics stores, department stores, and toy stores through March 31, 2016.
To earn the bonus miles, you must enroll through the link in the email by February 29, 2016. This could be a nice bonus if you spend a lot in these categories!
You can earn a total of 2,500 bonus American Airlines miles with the promotion. And some folks report receiving offers for spending in different categories, like grocery stores, gas stations, and restaurants.
Don’t forget to shop through a shopping portal to earn even more miles, points, or cash back!
4. Discounted United Airlines Australia Award Flights
Planning a trip to the land down under?
Mommy Points reports you can save 20% to 25% off the miles required for a round-trip coach saver award ticket to Australia on United Airlines.
Normally, a round-trip coach award ticket between the US or Canada and Australia costs 80,000 United Airlines miles. With this deal, you’ll save:
- 25% off flights Sunday through Thursday
- 20% off flights Friday and Saturday
So you’ll pay just 60,000 United Airlines miles round-trip (or 64,000 United Airlines miles if you fly on Friday or Saturday) to Australia! That’s a good deal (but my neck is already sore thinking about such a long flight in a coach seat!).
To get the discount, book by January 28, 2016, for travel between February 2, 2016, and June 22, 2016. Only flights on United Airlines (not Star Alliance or other partners) are eligible.
If you’re new to United Airlines, read my guide on how to earn (and use) United Airlines miles!
I flew United Airlines when I surprised my mom on her 60th birthday in Sydney last year and stayed at the Park Hyatt Sydney.
Let me know if you book a trip to Australia! And have a vegemite sandwich for me!
