Visit Taipei With New Non-Stop Flights on Eva Air! Use Your United Airlines Miles to Book an Award Seat
I’ll share details about the new routes!
1. EVA Air Adds New Flights from US to Taipei!
EVA Air is adding more flights to Taipei from New York (JFK) and new non-stop service from Chicago. There will be 4 new weekly non-stop flights from New York (JFK) to Taipei starting October 2, 2016. And non-stop service from Chicago starts November 3, 2016.
Because EVA Air is part of the Star Alliance, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to United Airlines and book an award flight on EVA Air. I searched united.com and award seats are available on the new flights for 35,000 United miles each way in coach.
2. British Airways Starts Non-Stop Flights From San Jose to London!
This week, British Airways launched daily non-stop service between San Jose and London.
You can book this flight with British Airways Avios points, but you’ll pay high charges and taxes.
Depending on where you start, or if you need to connect, using American Airlines miles might be a better choice to book an award seat.
3. Fly Non-Stop to Nashville on JetBlue
JetBlue now has daily non-stop flights to Nashville from Boston and Fort Lauderdale.
Here is my review of the Barclaycard JetBlue card, JetBlue Plus, and JetBlue small business cards. You can use the sign-up bonus earned from these cards to book JetBlue award flights.

4. New Ways to Connect to Mediterranean Destinations
Thanks to a new partnership between Delta and Amsterdam-based airline Transavia, you can connect through Amsterdam to destinations in Morocco, Spain, and Greece.
If you fly on one of Delta’s day flights to Amsterdam, you can connect to these 10 Transavia destinations:
- Thessaloniki, Greece
- Casablanca, Morocco
- Marrakesh, Morocco
- Lisbon, Portugal
- Alicante, Spain
- Barcelona, Spain
- Ibiza, Spain
- Malaga, Spain
- Seville, Spain
- Valencia, Spain
It seems like you can NOT use Delta miles to book these flights. But you can redeem Delta miles to fly to Europe. And then buy a cash ticket to one of the other cities.
