Choice Hotels let us know that starting June 1, 2017, they’re adding another perk for Gold, Platinum, and Diamond elite members. They’ll get a welcome gift or bonus points when they check-in at any Choice hotel brand.
Previously, only US Comfort Suites hotels provided a similar amenity to elite guests.

Get More With Choice Hotels Elite Status
Beginning June 1, 2017, if you have any elite status with Choice Hotels, you’ll get a welcome gift or bonus points for your stay at ANY Choice Hotels brand.
Choice hotels include:
- Ascend Hotel Collection
- Cambria Hotels & Suites
- Clarion
- Comfort Inn
- Comfort Suites
- EconoLodge
- MainStay Suites
- Quality Inn
- Roadway Inn
- Sleep Inn
- Suburban
Note: Ascend Hotel Collection, Econo Lodge, Rodeway, and Suburban Extended Stay brand hotels will begin offering the perk August 1, 2017.
This news certainly isn’t earth-shattering, but it’s always nice to hear that hotels are continuing to offer better perks to their customers.
And don’t forget, if you have elite status with another hotel chain, Choice will match it! That makes it much easier to take advantage of the benefits that come with having status at Choice Hotels.
They didn’t specify what the welcome gift would be, but I suspect something like a snack and a drink, like you get at Comfort Suites’ US locations. And you can always choose bonus points instead.
Because Choice has 6,400+ hotels worldwide, they’re convenient, and you can usually find Choice hotels in small towns where it’s harder find chains like Starwood and Hyatt hotels.
Many are also family friendly, and offer free breakfast. And with some of their brands, you can use points to book directly into a suite, even if you don’t have elite status!

Starting June 1, 2017, folks with Choice Hotels elite status will be able to choose between a welcome gift or bonus points, for staying at ANY Choice hotel.
We don’t know exactly what the welcome gift will be, but it will likely be a free snack and a drink.
This isn’t groundbreaking news, but it’s always nice to see hotels adding perks for their loyal customers.
